摘要:The present research aimed to enhance the thermal stability of chitosan(CS)-Polyvinyl Alcohol(PVA) blendcrosslinking with Calcium chloride(Cacl2).The blending of CS-PVA along with calcium chloride as crosslinking agent wasconfirmed by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) .The morphology of the film surface were investigated byScanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The thermal property of the CS-PVA film was examined by Differential ScanningCalorimetry (DSC) .The melting temperature (Tm) of the CS-PVA blend was enhanced from 165oC after crosslinking to278oC.Thus the results indicate that the crosslinked CS-PVA blend films have good thermal stability than CS-PVA blend,and promises to be a good material for the biomedical and food packaging applications.
