摘要:The reactive power dispatch is one of the generalized optimal power flow (OPF) problems to dispatchreactive power optimally to maintain the voltage magnitude at the load buses. The OPF problem with total power lossas an objective is solved while satisfying system equality and in-equality constraints. It is necessary to solve theoptimal power flow in the presence of series and shunt flexible AC transmission system controllers such as thyristorcontrolled series capacitor and static VAr compensators. The optimal location of these controllers is identified so as tomaximize the system security. The optimal parameters of this controller and system are identified using the developedgravitational search algorithm. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology with TCSC and SVC is tested onstandard IEEE-30 bus test system with supporting numerical and as well as graphical results.
