摘要：Reinforced concrete(RCC) is widely used for construction on a large scale due to its desirablemechanical properties and flexibility of its form. In this investigation, an attempt has been made to study the variouseconomical aspects in the design and relative cost of reinforced concrete beams of rectangular and flanged sections.Live load: 25kN/m.Spans taken: 4m, 8m, 12m, 16m, 20m, 24m, 28m, 32m.Grade of Concrete: M20, M25, M30, M40, M50, M60.d/b ratio: 1.00,1.25,1.50,1.75,2.00,2.25,2.50,2.75,3.00.Reinforced Concrete Rectangular Sections and Flanged sections are designed manually, then, MS-Excel program wasdeveloped for designs. IS 456: 2000 code book was used for design.
