摘要:Heterogeneous reconfigurable architectures are being used for video encoding applications. During early stages of the design flow, performance estimation due to parallel execution of video encoding applications on heterogeneous platforms is a critical requirement. In this article, we formulate the performance of parallel execution of H.264 video encoding application on a heterogeneous reconfigurable architecture. The formulation process starts with the analysis of video encoding application and separates the application into frame data processing and macro-block processing. Parallelization is done at macro-block level and performance gain is derived with an equation.
