摘要：An enormous amount of information is present onthe Internet. If any user wants to access some data, they wouldtend to enter their query into a search engine. This is knownas Web Searching. Web Searching has increasingly become acomplicated task over the years. To add to this, it oftenprovides inaccurate results. Thus there is a dire need for amore accurate and fast search result providing system. Thisproblem may be solved by the Semantic Web. One of thepillars of the Semantic Web is Ontology. Usage of ontologiesduring web search has provided some promising results. Thispaper discusses some of the proposed methods ofincorporating ontologies in web search. After a briefdescription is provided for each of the methods, they arecompared on the basis of the ontology technologies supportedby them and the methods utilized for implementation.
