摘要:Digital watermarking is important as it facilitatessecurity & protection to digital data whereas when this dataare used within international network they must exist incompressed format as it requires minimum transmissionbandwidth & reduced storage requirement. Hence ourproposed scheme will serve as a solution for maintaining thedigital data in compressed state. To achieve this goal theprocedure will perform watermarking of interlaced imagebased on DWT – DCT algorithm. In order to embed thewatermark we transform the image into subimages using 2-level interlacing, then the selected subimage is 1- leveldecomposed using DWT haar wavelet transform, from thedecomposition the sub-image is selected which is alsotransform by DCT algorithm. Hence the watermarked imageis formed by inverse transform of DCT followed by IDWT.Finally, the secret message is extracted by dithering thewatermarked image using DWT followed by DCT algorithm.Using this technique the ownership can be authenticated withthe image of size more than 50% less than the original. Theexperimental result shows that the proposed algorithmimparts good imperceptibility but when robustness isconsidered it works better under the situation when thewatermarked image is not exposed to any attack and if thewatermarked image is exposed to attacks the watermark bitsgets highly manipulated which results in loss of secretmessage.
