摘要：In past few years there is a rapid development inthe field of wireless sensor network. This paper gives briefintroduction of wireless sensor network with its applications inthe field of environment, structure monitoring, intelligenthome monitoring, Industrial application, health, military,vehicle detection, congestion control and RFID tag. Withadvancement in WSN, small and low cost sensor nodes becomeavailable, which have capabilities of wireless communication,sensing various types of environmental conditions and dataprocessing. There are different types of routing protocolsdepending upon application and network architecture.Routing protocols provide path in the network and efficientmulti-hop communication. WSNs can be found in a variousapplications like civilian and military worldwide whichembrace enemy intrusion detection, object tracking, patientmonitoring, habitat monitoring, fire detection and battlefield.
