摘要：Image processing is any form of signal processingfor which the input is an image, such as a photograph or videoframe, the output of image processing may be either an imageor a set of characteristics or parameters related to an image.An image may be considered to contain sub-images. So, inimage processing system it should be possible to apply specificimage processing operations to selected regions.The computer in mage processing system is a general purposecomputer and can range from a PC to a super computer.Software for image processing consists of specialized modulesthat perform specific tasks.Digital image processing techniques were developed in 1960’sBell laboratories. Digital image processing is the use ofcomputer algorithms to perform image processing on digitalimages. Digital image processing allows a much wider range ofalgorithms to be applied to the input data and can avoidproblems such as the build-up of noise and signal distortionduring processing. Digital image processing offer both moresophisticated performance at simple tasks and theimplementation of methods.
