  • 摘要:Self-tuning techniques are widely used in the database community especially for large analyses systems. Within this domain, a new architecture known as column store comes up to analyse and aggregate data. Column stores demonstrate good results in real world examples and benchmarks like TPC-H. In recent years, row stores dominate the data warehousing domain. To the best of our knowledge, there is no advisor for the optimal selection of storage architecture. We discuss this fact with respect to our example based on TPC-H. Afterwards, we present our research steps to develop a decision model for optimal selection of storage architecture. Finally, we motivate and discuss the development of a hybrid architecture.
