摘要：Women empowerment is sine-quo-non for accelerating the pace of the development of a nation and reducing poverty. Though women empowerment has attracted the attention of policy makers, Academicians and social reforms since the drawn of independence of India. But concern of women had a low profile, since 1980 the Government of India started to direct its efforts towards main streaming of women. Even in the present condition the status of women is not that appreciable.
