摘要：Despite the recognition that women entrepreneurs play a key role in economic activity, their growth has remained significantly subdued. This has been a result of the many gender related challenges they face in the competitive business world with their malecounterparts. The main objective of the research was to unravel the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in Mashonaland Central Provinceof Zimbabwe. Results were deriv ed through a qualitative in-depth interview based study of a sample of 50 women entrepreneurs operating in Mashonaland Central Prov ince. Data collected revealed that women entrepreneurs were aged between 20 and 55, were married and operated their businesses as sole traders or partnerships with most of them not registered. The research concluded that women entrepreneurs face constraints related to access to finance, conflicts between work and family responsibilities, networking challenges, lack of education and management skills. Sourcing raw materials markets were cited as the least challenges for women entrepreneurs.
