摘要:This study was carried out to synthesised and characterized metal complexes of mixtures of sulphadoxine and Pyrimethamine. The structures of the complexes were determined by spectroscopic techniques using Infra-red and UV – visible spectrophotometer while the nature of the metal complexes were investigated by determine the their melting points, electrical conductivity, retention factors and their metal contents were determined by using atomic absorption spectrometer. The results of spectroscopic analysis show that Pyrimethamine ligand functions as a bidentate donors through (C-CI) and (N-H) while sulphadoxine coordinate through (N-H) and O=S=O. The metal complexes were found to be soluble in polar organic solvent of ethanol and methanol. The melting points and electrical conductivity of the complexes were found to be higher than that of ligands, while the retention factors of the ligands were greater than that of the complexes. The results of metal contents showed that the metals were present in the complexes in the ratio of 1:1:1. The entire results obtained from this study show that metal based drugs are of better nature compare to their free ligands
