摘要:The clean water and reliable drinking water is essential for good health. In developing regions, 84 percent of the population has access to improved drinking water, with 96 percent having access in urban areas. Based on the research issues, the following objectives were drawn (1)To assess the impact of SIPCOT industrial pollution in the surveyed regions. (2)To find out the access of drinking water in the study regions. (3)To make an account of the impacts of SIPCOT on drinking water in the surveyed region and the role of SIPCOT in water management. (4)To suggest remedial measures (strategies) There are 20 villages situated around the SIPCOT industrial complex. Among them the researcher has selected three villages viz Narasingapuram, Navalpur and Puliyankannu. These villages are situated very near to the industrial complex area.Hence, it is a reason for selection of these three villages for the purpose of present study. This study identifies the effect of environmental pollution on consequence of establishment of SIPCOT industrial complex. In total 524 household are surveyed from the three village. The relevant data are collected from the respondents by employing a well structured interview schedule. The collected data are classified and tabulated with the help of computer programming, cross tabulation is also made on the basis of putting socio-economic variables with dependent variables. Chi-square test is applied to test the hypothesis particularly to study the difference between socio-economic status and respondents’ views, perceptions, realization and so on various aspects of environmental degradation and group conflict to cope with negative consequence of environmental degradation.The results of the study is presented for development of the society. The role of the SIPCOT Industry has to determine the identified areas for providing the drinking water facilities and the Government also has to take initiative steps for providing drinking water in the affected villages
