摘要:Witness in the Amazon a process characterized by several areas of policies and projects dealing with the Sustainable Rural Development. As a result, several Amazonian agro-extractives’ families are involved in institutional actions that seek to enhance the traditional values, the preservation and conservation of the natural environment. Through a case study in the Community Boa Esperança, island of Marajó, we reflected on the relationship of Amazonian agro-extractives’ families and actions for Sustainable Rural Development. We believe that these families are directing their activities to consolidate production systems based on local characteristics. However, the actions encouraged by development agencies, based on technical grounds, guide to the specialization of the production, especially in the case of native Açai’s areas. This fact demonstrates that the autonomy of these families is in a moment of conflict with its diverse and more dependent form of the natural environment.
