摘要：In article existing views on etymology of the name of the ancient princely city of Terebovlia are reconsidered and critically estimated by the author. He suggests and substantiates his own ethnic and anthropogenic approach, reconstructing ethnonym “terebovliane” as terbo(v+jь)-ane > *terbovl’ane on the basis of ancient written records of the oikonym, and consequently the place name of Old Rus’ settlement “Terebovl”.
