摘要：This study aimed to investigate the occurrence of aggression on referees in the games organized by the Rio Grande do Sul Football Federation (FGF) where there was no press coverage. The sample was composed by 50 subjects of FGF Referee Panel, of which 26 operate as referees and 24 like assistant referees. For the survey data, interviews were conducted using a semistructured questionnaire aiming to standardize the responses, which were subjected to content analysis. Thus indicating a low rate of physical aggression (18% of sample), and most of these abuses occurred in the presence of the media, which made us believe that the media itself does not inhibit aggressive behavior.
