摘要:The aim of this study was to analyze the correlation between flexibility of the lower limbs and vertical jump and to determine parameters of flexibility and vertical jump in football players under-20 category. The sample consisted of 24 male athletes aged between 16 and 21 years in the competition period. The study excluded all athletes with less than six months experience in football training or injured in the lower limbs within six months prior to conducting evaluations. After familiarization tests, were evaluated flexibility and vertical jump, through protocols Wells Bench and vertical jump, respectively. The main results of this study were that there was no correlation between vertical jump and flexibility (r = 0.09), and the average flexibility of the sample was 37.4 ± 6 cm range in Wells bank vertical jump was 43 ± 6 cm in football players of the under-20 category. In addition, data from this study with those reported in the literature allow us to say that football players under-20 have flexibility between 37 and 39 cm range in Wells bank and vertical jump from 41 to 43 cm. These parameters are important for football coaches conduct monitoring and comparison of their athletes in this category subject to these physical assessments. In conclusion, no correlation between vertical jump and flexibility of the lower limbs (r = 0.09) in football players of the under-20 category. Key words: Flexibility, Vertical jump, Football.
