摘要:In this article we analyze the special aspects of the tourist flow structure and dynamics in Sochi for the period of 2010-2014 basing on the official statistics and our own expert assessments. This time span is not fortuitous, for it includes pre-Olympic, Olympic and early post-Olympic periods. It is the most illustrative period for identifying the trend we are interested in. It is a statistically significant fact, that the interest towards Sochi has increased in 2014, which was most probably related to the eagerness of the tourists to become familiar with the Olympic legacy. The 2014 season was the most successful one for Sochi out of all resort areas of Krasnodar region, when the number of tourists grew by 1.9 times compared to the previous period. We also stated our proposals for increasing competitive growth of the Sochi destination in the context of the Olympic factor basing on the principles of the touristic territories’ marketing together with the measures aimed at providing conditions for flashpacking.
