摘要：Purpose: In the age of fierce competition, companies are not able to differentiate themselves in markets only on the basis of unique features. Improved services to the customers will give companies a chance to survive in markets. Supply chain management is an emerging area that enables a company to serve its customer in an improved way. This study aims at investing the role of emerging practices like knowledge management and decentralization in supply chain performance in the automobile sector of Pakistan. Research Methodology: The study uses survey method within quantitative method by following the positivist approach. A structured questionnaire was developed with the consultation of field expert, academician and a survey method expert which was piloted and the issues of validity and reliability were addressed. Practitioners from different departments linking to supply chain management within an automobile company were selected as a sample. There are 35 companies in province Punjab out of which 32 were selected and data was collected. Results were drawn by using a software SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) version 16 by applying some statistical tests like descriptive analysis, PCA (Principle Component Analysis) analysis and regression analysis. Findings: Findings of the study reveals that knowledge management can be divided into two parts including knowledge about the organization and knowledge of the employees. Both parts of the knowledge management create significant impact on supply chain performance whereas knowledge management about organization creates more impact. Another finding reveals that currently, the automobile companies in Pakistan are working at small scale so decentralization did not impact supply chain performance. Originality/value: The study will contribute in the body of knowledge with respect to the discussion of emerging practices to increase supply chain performance. This will help practitioners to design effectively their policies and future extension plans.
