摘要:Objective: Investigate the influence of two types of milk and its derivatives in the changes of the corporal composition as reduction of the fat and increase of the muscular mass. Methodology: Observational and experimental research performed with overweight women who practice physical exercises. Data were collected for age, anthropometric, dietary habits and physical exercise. The women were divided into three groups with different diets: 1 - cow's milk, 2 - soy milk and 3 - no dairy products. Results: There were five women, mean age 38.6 years (± 12.34) and initial weight of 95.28 kg (± 13.71). After the diet therapy intervention, two women, one receiving bovine milk and another soy milk, lost weight, percentage of body fat and gained lean body mass, when collected data from the balance; whereas with the measurement of skinfolds, beyond the two students, another participant who ingested soy milk lost body fat. Conclusion: There was loss of fat mass and lean mass gains in participants receiving diets with bovine milk and soy milk, no significant differences between them; so we can’t conclude that a protein is better than another in change of body composition. Key words: obesity, milk, diet, fat mass.
