摘要:Objective. To clarify a potential influence of other environmental factors, except generally accepted - iodine deficiency and radiation, on thyroid cancer (TC) incidence. Results. Analysis of the literature revealed some peculiarities of the increase of thyroid cancer (increase of thyroid cancer incidence long before the Chоrnobyl accident; a parallel increase of cancer and precancerous incidence of ecology dependent nodular thyroid diseases (nodular goiter, autoimmune thyroiditis etc.); growth of thyroid cancer incidence in the areas not related to the territories suffered from the accident at the Chоrnobyl NPP and not related to the endemic by goiter) which allow, in our opinion, to suppose the influence of other environmental factors. Study of thyroid cancer incidence dynamics in Ukraine (1991-2011) according to the National Cancer Registry confirmed our assumption. It was established that the distribution of thyroid cancer incidence depended on socio-economic characteristics of the region. Higher levels of thyroid cancer frequency were registered in industrial and agricultural areas, it may be connected with aetio-pathogenetic role of anthropogenic contamination of environment including applying pesticides. Obtained data confirm a necessity of further thorough research on these issues.
