摘要：Tahtavi Ortadoðu'nun modernitenin etkilerini hissetmeye baþladýðý 19. asrýn ilk yarýsýnda çaðdaþ düþünce ve bilimlerle Fransa'da tanýþan; bunlarý ülkesine taþýyan bir Mýsýrlý düþünürdür. Ulus, vatan, vatan sevgisi gibi kavramlarý modern içerikleriyle gündeme getirmiþtir. Tahtavi sayesinde bu kavramlar Mýsýr'dan baþlamak üzere Ortadoðu'ya girmeye baþlamýþtýr. Tahtavi Ýslam'ýn akýl ve bilimle uyumlu bir din olduðunu söylemiþtir. Ýslam toplumlarýna modern fikirlerin taþýnmasýný Ýslam'ýn aklý ve bilimsel geliþmeyi reddetmediði söylemiyle meþrulaþtýrmaya çalýþarak bu düþüncelerin kâfirlerin ürünleri olarak nitelenip, reddedilmelerinin önünü almaya çalýþmýþtýr. Tahtavi çok sayýda Batýlý eserin Arapçaya çevrilmesini ve Mýsýr'ýn bu eserlerle tanýþmasýný saðlamýþtýr. Bu baðlamda Tahtavi Ortadoðu'da Edebi Rönesans'ý baþlatan isimlerden birisidir. Bu çalýþmada Tahtavi'nin düþünsel geliþimi, Avrupa deneyiminin bunun üzerindeki etkileri ve Mýsýr modernleþmesine olan katkýlara deðinilecektir.
其他摘要：Rifa'a Rafi al-Tahtawi was an important Egyptian writer and philosopher, who saw the modern sciences and ideas in France at the beginning of the 19th century, when the effects of modernity was felt newly in the Middle East. He brought the notions "nation", "homeland", "patriotism" to Egypt with their modern meanings. Thanks to Tahtawi, these new notions started to spread to the entire Middle East from Egypt. Tahtawi saw Islam as a religion that had a belief system compatible with reason and science. He tried to justify the transfer of modern concepts and ideas to the Islamic community and Muslim's entery into the process of modernization over the rhetoric that Islam does not reject reason and scientific development. In this way, he wanted to prevent the considerations of Western contemporary ideas as the products of unbelievers and rejection of them among the Muslims. During the official missions that he was assigned and with his individual efforts he provided the translation of major Western productions into Arabic, so the libraries of Egypt met with Westerner works. In this context, Tahtawi could be named as one of the initiator names that started the period called Literary Renaissance in the Middle East. In this study, Tahtawi's intellectual development and the impacts of his European experience on it and his theoretical and practical contributions to the modernization process of Egypt will be discussed.
