During Christmas 2002 the pavement of a yard caved-in, at a private home in the town of Miroslav. The cave-in exposed a cavern under the pavement, 1.5 m in diameter and 6 m deep. Investigation confirmed the hole had opened with the gradual subsidence of soil into the cavern. Indirect evidence resulting from subsequent research supports the possibility that a loch existed here in the past, which, at a later date had been turned into a wine cellar.
