标题：The Body Mass Index associated to the physical activity in new entry students of the Bachelor in Nursing at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico

摘要：One of the most important challenges of the Public Health are the problems of overweight and obesity in the population, due to the health risks that they imply. The nurse, not only has a social commitment through health education, but also with herself, therefore the importance of determining the Body Mass Index and its association with the physical activity since her formation. To that end, A cross quantitative study was conducted, nonrandom sample of 111 participants. The results showed that 52.3% were physically active; 11.7% were overweight and 2.7% obese type I. There was association between Body Mass Index and family history (Chi2= 8,689, p ≤.003). The percentage of overweight and obesity in the nursing students participating in the study was below the national average, which means a fortress to be monitored and maintained throughout life.
