  • 摘要:High-voltage and power capability ofmultilevel converters better used for unified power-flowcontroller (UPFC) applications. The three-level neutralpoint-clamped (NPC) converter allows back-to-backconnection as the UPFC shunt and series converters thanother multilevel topologies. In place of the pulse widthmodulated(PWM) multilevel control schemes, constant dclinkvoltage and balanced voltages in the NPC multilevel dccapacitors is necessary for UPFCs. The proposed workprovides three main contributions to increase theperformance of the system of multilevel UPFCs as this canbe operated in STATCOM, SSSC and exactly in the UPFCmode with the double balancing of dc capacitor voltagesunder line faults, overall enhancing the UPFC ride-throughcapability. NPC series and shunt converters keep the dclinkvoltage steady. Transients are the causes of fault inpower system, Power System Stabilizer (PSS) andAutomatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) are used to stabilizethe response. The voltage regulator and current controllerplays important roll to generate control pulses for VSC. AMATLAB simulation has been carried out to demonstratethe performance of the proposed model for UPFC inachieving transient stability with real and reactive powercontrol.
