摘要:The digital cameras provided a great service forusers of different ages as it facilitated the process of capturingthe images, and in spite of that user still needs to improvesome of the images marred by the lack of clarity when takingan image because of the lack of proper lighting as it is incloudy weather or bright or dark sites light , or take the imagefrom a distance, leading to blurred image details. We Proposein this paper a new method for contrast enhancement grayimages based on Fast Discrete Curvelet Transform viaUnequally Spaced Fast Fourier Transform (FDCT-USFFT).This type of transforms returns a table of curvelet coefficientsindexed by a scale parameters, an orientation, and a spatiallocation. The FDCT-USFFT coefficients can be modified inorder to enhancement contrast in an image. Results show thatthe proposed technique gave very good results, in comparisonto the histogram equalization and wavelet transform basedcontrast enhancement method
