摘要：Involvement of researchers in industry is undeniably beneficial for companies. It drives innovations, patents, licenses and ultimately profits. However, participation of scientists in industry is still scarce. With the aim of emphasizing the benefits of scientific involvement in industry, we conducted a comprehensive exploration of various types of involvement. Co ntributions of scientists to industry sector comes through 5 types of collaboration encompassing: licensing, collaborative research, academic entrepreneurship, contract research and consulting. This kind of typology enables practitioners to see what collaboration type they may engage in and is optimal for their business needs.
