摘要：Historians and librarians have always had a close affinity. The library,with its collections embodying the recorded knowledge of the past, haslong been a crucial site for historical research. Most historians spendmuch of their time working in libraries. Traditionally, many librarianshad an interest in history, and a significant number had experience andqualifications as historians. The underlying similarity of purpose made fora natural alliance.
