In 1975, vascularized fibular graft for the treatment of open fracture of tibla and fibula was Jirst reported by Taylor with success in one patient. Later, in 1977 Buncke reported using vascularized free rib to repair traumatic defect of the tlbia and mandible In 1978. OBrien reported the advantages of the vascularlzed bone transfer and in our country, Lee. et al reported successful transfer of the vascularized osteocutaneous flap at 1983.
The vascularifed fibular graft is ideal fir bridging segmental defecrs in long bones, and heal at a rate comparable to normal bone and are not replaced by creeping substitution.
In this article, one case of anterior transposition of the vascularized fibulas for the segmental defect of both tibias is reported.
Postoperative follow up showed successful union and hypertrophy of both transpositioned fibulas.
