摘要：The aim of present study is to find out the differences in the attitude of parents towards mental retardation. Two groups of parents were included in the study: one group comprised of parents of mentally retarded children, while the other comprised of parents of normal school going children of the same age group. Female parents in both the groups were found to have a more negative attitude towards the disability than male parents. Education of parents also had an impact on their attitude, with graduate and post graduate parents having a more positive attitude than those educated up to the X and XII level.
