摘要：Aim and objectives: To compare the pulmonary function test among football and hockey players of Himachal Pradesh University and to test the hypothesis that ventilator drive is modified by swimming. Materials and methods: A total number of samples for present study was comprised of 128 football players and 128 hockey players (i.e. the team which qualified for quarter final stage of the tournament of Himachal Pradesh inter college championship of hockey and football game) were undertaken as subjects for the present investigation. Spirometer' was used to find out the pulmonary function test. Results: Parameters were analyzed by Statistical 't' test. There was no significant difference in "t" value in all variables except FVC between football and hockey players. There was a significant difference in mean and standard deviation of all pulmonary parameters which shows that the hockey players found better than football players Conclusion: Hockey is the game of speed in which players have to run short sprints and for this the maximum flow of air is required by the lungs. So they are better than football players.
