摘要：This article looks at the language of poetry from linguistic point of view. The language of poetryis different from ordinary language. Poets use language in their compositions according to theconcept of foregrounding. The purpose of foregrounding is to attract the attention of the readers.So, they go across the domain of deviation and parallelism which is pattern breaking and patternmaking respectively. In other words foregrounding is the action of emphasizing something bymeans of linguistic devices (http://literarism.blogspot.com). In this article, an endeavor has beenmade to analyze and discuss about some of these linguistic devices, used in poetic language
