摘要：This paper focuses on problems in teaching writing in conventional instructional programs andhenceforth, attention to the development of writing skills is not very promising. By contrast, thescope and function of writing skills in ODL mode is greater, provided the self learning materials(SLM) in ODL mode specifically caters to teaching of writing. Subsequently, the paper looks atthe possibility of in-service teacher training for teaching writing in ODL mode.
