摘要：In Malaysia, the teaching and learning of English language is regarded as asecond language. This is due to the fact that Malaysia owns diverse cultures withvarious languages used among people. Therefore, this paper will discuss about theinfluence of cultural diversity on second language acquisition among Malaysianstudents. From the analysis of selected articles, it is evident that cultural diversity placesome influences in the learning and acquisition of second language. Although thecultural diversity has been viewed as the elements that bound the acquisition of thetarget language, it is noticed that there is a strong influence of native language over thelearning of English among Malaysian learners. Therefore, it should be taken intoconsideration that cultural diversity may indirectly affluence the learning or acquisitionof the second language among the learners.
