摘要:The relationship between age and success in second language acquisition (SLA) iscontroversial. Due to the importance of this issue, this study attempts to explore whether thecritical period hypothesis is applicable to second language learning? The results of this studyshowed that some scholars have provided evidence which apparently supports the existence of acritical period for second language acquisition, while other scholars have provided counterevidencein this regard. Consequently, it is concluded that critical period hypothesis is one of theempirical problems in SLA.
