摘要：Mobile ad hoc network is a specific type of wireless networks in which nodes may move. This type ofnetwork is established without any definite structure and they are mostly applied in wars, rescue missions indamaged area, conferences and so on. Several routing protocols have been proposed matchingcharacteristics of such networks among which AODV is an important one. In this study two modifiedversions of AODV i.e. J-AODV and IAODV are investigated and their performances are compared toconventional AODV. The obtained results demonstrated that J-AODV achieves better performancecomparing to AODV as it improves average delay and network operational power. The results of IAODValso illustrate that packet delivery delay is reduced. Furthermore, routing overhead is decreased throughreducing frequencyof route discovery process.
