摘要：This research is conducted to examine the effectiveness of imago therapy training on decreasing marital conflicts in couples. For this purpose, the sample population of 60 couples referring Health Houses in district 21of Tehran Municipalitywere selected by recall randomly and were divided into 2 experimental and control groups including 30 people. The Marital Conflict Questionnaire (MCQ) had been used in which consisted of42 questions that it has made on the basis of doctor Sanaee clinical experiments to evaluation. Members of experimental group were trained on imago therapy and its related techniques. And then pot-test was used again on both groups. Analysisof covariance method was used for data analysis. The results showed that imago therapy training is effective on marital conflicts reduction (P<0/05 000 / 0 p=). Another finding of this research is that imago therapytraining can lead to increasing cooperation between the couples, separating financial affairs from each other and increasing the emotional reactions. But imago therapy approach has not been effective in improving sexual relationship, and enhancement of relationship with relatives and friends, increasing a family relationship with relatives and friends of the spouse and attracting children's protection. Regarding that this training has a positive effect on marital conflicts and some subscales, as a result imago therapy training is an effective tool for resolving marital conflicts.
