摘要：The general aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between happiness and general health with life expectancy in patients with cancer is in Noshahr, Iran. The research method was descriptive-correlational and the statistical population included all patients with cancer who referred to Shahid Beheshti hospital and clinics in Noshahr during 2014-15. Convenience sampling method was employed for sampling and the sample size was selected 50 individuals. In order to gather data, Oxford's happiness questionnaire, Snyder and Omomis' life expectancy were used. In order to analyze the collected data correlation and regression techniques were used. The findings showed that the correlation between mental health and life expectancy and happiness in patients suffering from cancer increase have been significant and this means that as life expectancy increases, happiness and mental health in these patients will increase accordingly and also the variance of life expectancy in patients with cancer are determined simultaneously by five variables of happiness satisfaction, positive mood, healthiness, efficiency, self-esteem as well as 39% of the variance of life expectancy in patients with cancer are explained at the same time using four variables of physical symptoms, anxiety, social actions, depression and the variable of healthiness with 0.54 and the variable of social actions with 0.49 are the most powerful predictors of life expectancy between in patients with cancer
