  • 摘要:Established in Vienna, the series Jour fixe Bildungstheorie | Bildungspraxis (Regular Meeting Educational Theory | Educational Practice) is a cooperation between adult education and the university in which the relationship between theory and practice of adult education is treated as a lively discourse. Open exchange, changes in perspectives, theoretical reflection and criticism are at the heart of the discussion and lecture evenings, expert talks and workshops that take place four to five times each semester. Organized and arranged by the Circle of Austrian Training Institutes (Ring Österreichischer Bildungswerke in German), the Institute of Science and Art (Institut für Wissenschaft und Kunst - IWK in German), the Association of Austrian Adult Education Centres (Verband Österreichischer Volkshochschulen - VÖV in German) and the Department of Education at the University of Vienna, the regular meeting sees itself as a place where educational questions can be examined in their social context and discussed. This article describes the nearly ten year development of this series with diverse formats from the perspective of one of its founders and two of its organizers. It closes by asking what significance such a place can have for the professionalization of adult education and the ongoing development of adult education research. (Ed.)
