摘要:Road lighting is ultimately intended to provide the drivers with visual information to identify and avoid the obstacles ahead while driving at nighttime and safety on road at nighttime is dependent on quality of visual information, which is related with driver’s working load level which is influenced by environmental factor of the road including access management and street parking. Viewing existing road lighting standards in Korea, qualitative and general base only is provided when determining the road lighting class and thus there might be a limit in incorporating driver’s visual environmental conditions. This study thus is intended to evaluate the appropriateness of parameter and weighting evaluation options in a bid to determine the road lighting standards from overseas viewpoint through on-road simulator of the subject. As a result, parameter and weighting evaluation options proposed by overseas standards were considered appropriate and the outcome of this study will be applied to revision of road lighting standards of Korea.
