摘要：Special value in a complex of tourist and recreational resources of the Astrakhan region is occupied culturally – historical resources, the defining cultural and historical tourist and recreational capacity of the territory. This capacity of the Astrakhan region allows to develop the different types of rest. Centuries-old history and cultural monuments promote development here, first of all, of cultural and informative tourism, i.e. tourism which purpose is acquaintance with cultural heritage. Among cultural and historical objects the leading role belongs to historical and cultural monuments, the requirements of a cultural and informative recreation differing in the greatest appeal and serving as the main means of satisfaction, and also to the museums – as to the main way of inclusion of cultural and historical resources in system of tourist and recreational service. It is possible to carry to cultural and historical prerequisites of recreational branch also various cultural and historical phenomena: ethnographic and folklore sights, domestic industries, and also the remained folk customs etc.
