摘要:A PC-based fast elevation data acquisition systemcat led ZI-EDAS is developed to digitize contours ontopographic maps into vector form and then generateDEM.The hardware consists of an AST386 computer withTVGA display; a mouse and a HP ScanJet Scanner. Thecontours on scanned map are digitized interactivelyarc by arc. The cursor is located on the nearestcontour automatically and then the contour is tracedat once. The heights of the contours are determinedby increasing or decreasing one interval by pressingdifferent mouse keys. Experiments show that the inputtime using ZI-EDAS can be reduced to about 10~-20~of that using a conventional digitizer. A fast DEMgeneration method is presented by using variabledirection1-D interpolation. The precedure is muchfaster than that of 2-D interpolation by about 10times.
