摘要:This study deals with the role of satellite remote sensing formonitoring global environment, and the analysis of world vegetation, potential arable land area, potential food production and the placesof the C02 fixation on land and sea. NOAA Global Vegetation Index(GVI) were used for world vegetation map, and potential arable landarea. And chlorophyll distribution produced from.NIMBUS7/CZCS datawas used for estimation of the total capacity of C02 fixation in thesea area.Based on the results from above, the supportability ofpopulation with respect to the crop production and total capacity ofC02 fixation were estimated. It is the first trial to analyze the relationships betweenglobal environment and two indices of human activity, supportablepopulation and the ability of C02 fixation as the result of humanactivity.
