  • 摘要:Friction stir welding of the copper with 6063aluminum alloy is carried out and analysed using the finiteelement method. In this work, transient thermal finite element analysis are performed in order to obtain the temperaturedistribution in the welded joint during the welding operation. Heat input from the tool shoulder and the tool pin areconsidered for analysis in finite element model. A moving heat source with a heat distribution simulating the heatgenerated from the friction between the tool shoulder and the work piece and it is used in the heat transfer analysis.Three-dimensional models are carried out usingHypermeshsoftwareand the distribution of heat and pressure areanalysed. The maximum heat generated is nearly 750oC and pressure is acting only on the nugget zone.
