  • 摘要:The aim of the paper is to describe a cheap and easy design and implementation of microcontroller basedscrolling message display using a series of eight numbers of LED matrices with each LED matrix having 5 rows and 7columns. A PIC18F452 is chosen as the microcontroller because of its high memory space which is required to savedata in the memory for all the alphanumeric characters and symbols. The message can be sent by the computer throughasoftware to the microcontroller using a serial port. This message is displayed on the board. The design was firstsimulated using Proteus v8.0 and then implemented in the hardware. The program was compiled in mikroC and fed intothe microcontroller using a programmer for PIC 8-bit microcontrollers. Such scrolling display boards can be installedas notice boards, for advertising and displaying important information in public places.
