摘要:A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) consists of spatially distributed sensors to monitor physical orenvironmental condition and to cooperatively pass their data through the network to a main location. In the existingwork Geographic opportunistic routing protocol (GEOR) is implemented for WSNs. The major issues in GEOR isnetwork scalability which is somewhat low due to high work load and also signal problem occurs due to the presence ofmultiple interfaces in single path. To overcome this problem, Cognitive networking with opportunistic routing protocol(CNOR) for WSNs is introduced. The purpose of the proposed protocol is to improve the direction of networkperformance after increasing network scalability. Then, a discrete event simulator is applied to examine the performanceof the proposed protocol in comparison with a geographic opportunistic routing protocol. By using the opportunisticrouting protocol performs better results with respect to throughput, packet delay ratio, delay and packet over head.
