  • 摘要:Plasma sprayed coatings are widely used as wear resistant coatings on a variety of metallic substrates.Alumina (Al2O3), Titania (TiO2) and Alumina-Titania (Al2O3+40%TiO2) ceramic coatings with different coatingthicknesses of 100μm, 150μm and 200μm are deposited on Al-6082T6 substrate by Plasma Spray Technique.Microstructural, Tribological Properties and Surface Roughness of the coated specimens have been studied forAluminium (Al-6082T6) and Coated Al-6082T6. NiCrAl is used as a bond coat material to promote coating adhesion.Dry wear test was performed for different sliding distance of 1000m, 2000m, and 3000m at a constant load of 10N byusing a Pin-on-Disc. The results obtained from the above work showed that, the Alumina coated specimens is havingexcellent wear property when compared to Titania and Alumina-Titania coating materials. The SEM of the wornsurfaces of coated specimen shows better results than that of the Al-6082T6.
