摘要:The mechanical properties of API high strength steel can be improved through proper alloycopmposition and appropriate thermo-mechanical processing that can refine and homogenize the final microstructure.The present analysis shows the effect of thermo mechanical processing on static recrystallisation of microalloyed steel.The experiments were conducted to enhance the understanding on the effect of key process parameters to obtainrelevant microstructural features and desired mechanical properties for the development of the higher API grade steel.In these experiments, the as received sample was warm rolled to 69.91% thickness deformation at about 600˚C. Thesewarm rolled specimens were annealed at 850˚C, with varying annealing time. The specimens were further allowed tofree cool with varying annealing time (20-100s) and their microstructure and property variations were studied. It wasalso observed that annealing temperature of 850˚C was high enough for the occurrence of recrystallisation and ferritegrain size increases with increase in annealing hold time.
