摘要:The power quality problem occurs due tothe non-standard current, voltage or frequency, this result indisoperation of consumer equipment’s. So the present workis to identify the important concerns in this area and hencethe measures that can improve the quality of the power arerecommended. Harmonic analysis in the distribution systemis absolutely necessary to study the behaviour of equipmentconnected to the non-sinusoidal system environment fordesigning, placing and sizing of distributed generation.IEEE 13-bus balanced distribution system is considered foranalysis of harmonics. Harmonic analysis of the distributionsystem gives the harmonics spectrum which in turn it givesTHD currents and THD voltages at many buses. Reductionof harmonics is performed by simulation using distributedgeneration. The simulation study shows the bestperformance of the distributed generation placement at/nearthe non-linear load buses. The balanced distribution systemmodel is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK 2012software with static and non-linear loads.
