摘要:This work presents a novel single phasecascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter with least numberof switches and isolated DC sources. The proposedinverter consists of two H-bridges connected in cascade.The upper H-bridge consists of five power electronicswitches, capable of developing five level output and thelower H-bridge is capable of developing multileveloutput. The conventional CHB inverter is replaced withthe additional bi-directional switches in each cell. Theproposed inverter consists of two H-bridges, the upper Hbridgeis replaced with the addition of one bi-directionalswitch and the lower H-bridge is replaced with the bidirectionalswitches driven by hybrid modulationswitching strategy. The upper inverter is switched at highfrequency and the lower inverter is switched at lowfrequency. Hybrid modulation switching strategy is usedto generate the multilevel output for the proposed inverter.The proposed inverter will be compared with the existingmultilevel topologies on the basis of number ofcomponents, number of isolated DC sources, Switchinglosses and converter losses. The proposed inverter will beconnected to the grid by proper synchronization alongwith maximum power point tracking algorithm. Theproposed grid connected multilevel inverter will besimulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK and will beimplemented in hardware using SPATRAN3A DSP.
